It's made from pasteurized cow's milk that must meet the strict standards to be regulated especially compared to the bacteria content. Montasio is a cheese that has a straw yellow color with holes.

The taste is intense with a slight spiciness. Typically, you will find this cheese served as an eating cheese with crusty bread. You can also shred it on pasta dishes, serve it in omelets, or use it to make sauces and fondue. Pair great with a glass of Pinot Grigio or some light red wine such us Chianti.

Country of Origin: Italy

Storage: as a main premise, Montasio cheese must be kept in the fridge, under a temperature of between 5-10 degrees, and with a humidity of 85-90%. Normally, many state-of-the-art refrigerators already have drawers and cheese boxes for their conservation. If not, the best place to have the cheese is the lower shelves.
